On the night of May 28/29, 2012 the big truck arrives
The truck finds the right position
The crew works at night, because during the day it’s 130 F, too hot to work. It’s s till very hot at night.
The drill goes down 220ft
Most modern wells are drilled.
Old-fashion Dug Wells are often too shallow, they don’t supply water year round and sometimes the water is polluted due to industrialization. They are a relic of old times.
Bore Wells are usually deeper and the water is of better quality because it has filtered through bedrock. This kind of water is available year round.
Two types of pipes are used
The blue casing ensures the well won’t collapse. A long, thin electric pump sits in 140 ft. and pushes the water through the smaller white pipe.
